Philpan Diving Resort

The family-owned Philpan Diving Resort has airconditioned rooms with private bath, sitting area and cable TV (it can accommodate up to 4 persons).

It also has a restaurant, bar, picnic cottages, videoke and barbecue pits. Internet access (wi-fi) is available in public areas. Their beachfront is stony though, which I think is common in this area. From the circumferential road, it is a steep drive down to the beachside dive resort.

Picnic cottages
Operating since 1989, it has a dive shop and offers packages suitable for both novice and experienced divers that includes boat ride to the dive site, one tank with air, belt with weights, certified dive guide, cottage room, full board accommodations and free use of the resort facilities. It also offers massage, snorkeling, kayaking and motorized boat tours to Sombrero Island or Maricaban Island (Tingloy).

Beachfront picnic cottages

The resort is also the usual jump-off point of mountain climbers to Mt. Gulugod Baboy, a popular hiking destination in Anilao. Measuring about 525 MASL, with only a 2/9 difficulty level, it is an ideal minor climb. They offer packages that include guides and picnic lunch at the top.

Travel time from Manila is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Here, you can get an Anilao/Mabini-bound jeepney.  Tell the driver that you're going to Philpan Dive Resort. He will drop you off at an intersection where tricycles going to Philpan are available.

Drive its entire length until you reach Batangas City. From Batangas City, you will pass by Bauan before you get to Mabini.
