3rd SKAL International Makati Membership and Fellowship Meeting

Last June 5, SKAL International Makati, now on its 44th year, held its 3rd Membership and Fellowship meeting, while also welcoming new members to the organization, at the Port Bar in Hilton Manila, Newport World Resorts.

A professional organization of more than 13,500 tourism leaders around the world promoting global tourism and friendship, SKAL (first founded in 1934) is a Scandinavian acronym for Sundhet (health), Karlek (love), Alder (long life) and Lycka (happiness).

The meeting, with the theme “SKAL Embraces Health Tourism” had, as its guest speaker, Dr. Dennis L. Sta. Ana, MD, President and CEO of Makati Life Medical Center.  Formerly the Ospital ng Makati (OSMAK) 2 Building, MLMC is a private, world-class tertiary hospital that mainly serves residents in the First District of Makati.

The meeting also featured the oath taking of new member Mr. Eddie M. Nuque, Chairman of Philippine Travel Mart Foundation (PTMF). SKAL International Makati President Capt. Stanley K. Ng, former President and COO of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL), was also greeted and presented with a cake on his birthday.

The event was hosted by Newport World Resorts and Ralph’s Wines and Spirits who generously provided the exquisite wines that enhanced the evening.
